The kitchen is a place where a housekeeper spends most of the time. Thus, it is important that the furniture in the kitchen should not be uncomfortable or troublesome. It should be made in such a way and of such a material that it can be cleaned easily. There should be lots of cupboards. Each one should be for one specific purpose. It is more convenient to have sliding doors than having closets. The cupboards should have casters under them so that their position can be changed easily. This also helps in keeping the kitchen clean.

Cupboards meant especially for food should be very well ventilated; otherwise they are very likely to attract mold and germs. These can be ventilated by doors of fine wire gauze or by using fine wire gauze at the upper section of the door. This prevents flies but permits the air to pass through and keep your food safe and nutritious. Ventilation prevents the cupboards from any type of odor as well.
You can have small easy rolling caster tables in the tables. These should be of suitable height. If these tables have zinc tops they can be kept clean easily and are convenient as well. If these kitchen tables have drawers then usually these drawers are full of unnecessary rubbish. Thus it is better not to have drawers in them. You can have some handy and convenient place to keep the things you need frequently. You can have small shelves very close to or above the cooking range where you can keep different products needed during cooking.
The sink is most important part of the kitchen furniture. It should be well constructed and of course well cared for or it may become a hazard for the health of the people of the house. It is best if the sink is not attached to the walls because then it can be cleaned properly from all the sides. The pipes and the other items should be fixed well by a good plumber. The pipes should be kept clean and disinfected. Often greasy water and small food bits enter the pipe. The drainage pipes have bends and traps and usually only water can pass through them, solid stuff might cause problem. The grease and small solids may deposit in these pipes. This will either block the drain pipe or allow water to pass through very slowly.
The health of the members of the house depends on the kitchen of the house. Thus, the furniture in the kitchen should be handy, easy to clean and well ventilated. The sink should be convenient and easy to clean.
